Warning! The second photo may be disturbing for some.
undesirable [ˌʌndɪˈzaɪərəbəl]
adj
not desirable or pleasant; objectionable
Nature has a way of reminding us that life is sometimes short and often ends unpleasantly.
I posted the first image in the November 22nd PhotoHunter, “Bird(s)”. This poor bird was trapped in an abandoned building. I found it when I was photographing the town of Claremont, Ontario, which is mostly boarded up and slated for demolition for the Pickering Airport. I cannot imagine how it suffered before finally succumbing to exhaustion and/or starvation.

What was particularly disturbing to me was that, aside from the black toes and gums, it looked so like my Benjamin.
Still, it is life and death… The way of the World.

wow, amazing. I wonder what it looked like in color? What color was the cat?

He (she?) was a brown sort of tabby-like cat… with black pads on its feet. It reminded me of my own cat, Benjamin.
The photos aren’t terribly good. Like many point-and-shoots, the sharpness seems to degrade after a while, something I am finding with my current camera. Unfortunately, I can’t afford a better one. I just do the best I can.
There are a couple more photos, here http://www.flickr.com/photos/42603307@N02/4054412677/in/set-72157622562421689/
I can’t find the ones i have on my more extensive Fotki site.

Sad, but something we will all face.
An inside cat is a safe cat. I saw a beautiful Siamese today that had been run over.
Thought provoking post for PH this week.

I am a cat lover. That poor kitty looks like she was crying out in pain before dying. Very disturbing shot and great way to depict the theme of ‘undesirable’ I think this has been my favorite subject so far because of the dramatic shots.

OH, those poor things. 😦 That cat one is really dramatic, with it’s mouth wide open like that. It makes me imagine it was caught in a scream at the instant of death. Very sad. Great choices to share.

You certainly took that to the max. Very sad, but good point – it happens to all living things.

I was actually scrolling down to see what’s so disturbing…….indeed, death is always so disturbing and sad but that’s the way nature is.

Amazing photos but, to be honest, if I didn’t know otherwise, I’d have thought the cat was still alive — and howling. :S

The last photo actually made me feel grateful that Sunny’s final expression was so peaceful, like he’d just fallen asleep.
Well done, as usual, Mudhooks.
