Lion avec un tres jolie chapeau

Lion avec un tres jolie chapeau!

A favorite subject of mine. Sadly, the lion has now lost his jaunty little boater…

I just had a really close look at the original image of this and it looks like the hat might have been made of plaster. It doesn;t look like cement but it had what look like seams where the edges of the mold would have been. If it was plaster, it likely succumbed to ice damage.

It might also have been painted white… I guess I will never know.

I would love to sneak up and replace the hat some night.

Aww, sad lion has lost his tip. It was rather cute.

I played twice today. A dog in in at at http://pawesomeblog.blogspot.com/2009/01/who-dat.html and a skull in a hat at http://myordinarythings.blogspot.com/2009/01/17365.html

No, I believe I recall that it was either Styrofoam or plastic. I think it had an elastic or something. Anyway, it must have blown off at some point.

No, I think he’s pretty steady… That is just down the road from the “White House”, the oft-photographed farmhouse, and just up the road from the gate I often take photos of..

There is a very lovely Afghan doggie who often comes down to the gate to say hello when I am taking the lion’s photo.

    Tres jolie indeed!

But the statue looks a bit precariously perched up there. Where is that?
